Detective "Barrel" Johnson is an investigator with the Los Angeles Police Department. He works in the Hollywood Division and is the partner of Robert Moore.

Johnson is played by guest star Troy Evans in the 2015 streaming series Bosch. He is a recurring character in the first, second, third, fourth , fifth ,sixth and seventh seasons. He also makes a guest appearance along side Crate in Bosch: Legacy
In the novels there are a pair of detectives similarly nicknamed "Crate" and "Barrel" - Detectives Glanville and Jerry Solomon. In the novel The Drop they are assigned to work with Bosch investigating the murder of George Irving. There is also a Detective Johnson mentioned in the novel The Concrete Blonde.
In Bosch: Legacy episode "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades" Bosch recruits Crate and Barrel for help to do surveillance on Carl Rogers and his men . They get DMV photos as part of the intel . It is revealed that they have since retired but still have connections from their time as detectives .
