Beatriz Sahagun is a barista at at Starbucks in San Fernando. She is Latina with long dark hair and dark eyes. In October 2016 she came home from work and detected that a stranger was in the house. She detected an odor that smelled like someone who smokes, and there are no smokers living with her. She took a broom and went through the house looking for the intruder. When she found him hiding behind a curtain, she struck him with the broom. The unexpected attach caused the intruder to flee. He was later determined to be the Screen Cutter rapist. Beatriz was interviewed by Bella Lourdes and Harry Bosch who obtained crucial information from her.
