Bill Denslow was a pseudonym used by Wesley Carver to create the tripwire website and the information collection website Denslow Data. The first web site would collect IP addresses of anyone that looked at the site, while the latter allowed Carver to retrieve the IP addresses without leaving any record of himself. Carver used the name Bill Denslow to set up the sites through a Seattle based company called See Sally Run.

The name was borrowed from the 19th Century American artist William Wallace Denslow, who collaborated with L. Frank Baum to illustrate The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, including the character of the Scarecrow.
