Daniel Arias is a detective in the Los Angeles Police Department. He is assigned to the South Central homicide squad and is partnered with Detective Ray Marcos. They are investigating a public shooting at a church. They believe the case involves the Rollin 60s gang particularly recently paroled Bo Jonas. They reach out to Detective Jerry Edgar to get in touch with his confidential informant Gary Wise. Wise is a former gang member and known associate of Jonas.
Wise meets with Ramos and Arias and agrees to get Jonas to talk to them. They tell Edgar that he failed to attend their next rendezvous after his body is found.
It is later revealed him and his partner Marcos are corrupt and working for Jacques Avril a Haitian Gangster.

Arias is played by co-star Wilmer Calderon in the 2015 streaming series Bosch (TV Series). He is a recurring character in the fifth season.
