Bob Flynn is an investigator in the Los Angeles Police Department. He works as a detective in the Central Division. He is assigned to complete a grid search looking for a bullet following the murder of Howard Elias. Because of Elias' reputation as a frequent litigator against police officers he is reluctant to complete the task and hangs back waiting for the full detail to arrive. Detective Harry Bosch is frustrated by his attitude and tells him that he mistook him for a real cop.
