Jose Esquivel Jr. is a pharmacist. He runs Farmacia Esquivel with his his father Jose Esquivel Sr.
The pharmacy runs into financial difficulty. Their business becomes involved with drug trafficking, serving as a pill mill for the criminal organization run by Dalton Walsh. Esquivel Sr. panics and writes to the state medical board. The criminals respond by executing Esquivel Sr. and Esquivel Jr. goes on the run.
