Gabriel Williams is former prosecutor and civil rights attorney in Los Angeles. He is of African-American ancestry and a strong advocate for the rights of citizens who believe they have been abused by the LAPD. He is frequently victorious in the courtroom, causing the LAPD brass to be fearful of him.
In 2006, he announced his intention to run for the District Attorney's position when the sitting D.A. decided against running for reelection. He was opposed by Richard O'Shea in the election. Williams won that election and served as D.A. for five years. In 2011 he was appointed to a high ranking position in the U.S. Attorney General's Office.
