tGeorge Thomas Irving (b. 1963; d. 3 Oct 2011) was the son of Irvin Irving, the husband of Deborah Irving, and the father of Chad Irving.
He followed his father's footsteps and joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1984, but left the force in 1989 to enter law school. He and his wife married on 4 January 1992, and his son was born on 2 May 1993. After earning his Juris Doctor, he went to work for the City Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, but when his father was elected to the Los Angeles City Council, George created Irving & Associates and began working as a consultant "specializing in corporate relations."
On the evening of 2 October 2011, he left his home at 8:30 and called the Chateau Marmont Hotel Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood ten minutes later to reserve room #79, checking in an hour later at 9:40. At 5:51 on the morning of October 3rd, his body was found on the street behind the Hotel, having fallen from the seventh floor. His death was initially investigated by Hollywood homicide Detectives Solomon and Glanville, but the case was subsequently commandeered by RHD detectives David Chu and Harry Bosch at the request of Councilman Irving.
