Det. Hurwitz is a homicide detective with the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Division, and the partner of Detective Swanny.
In October of 2002, he was called to the Hollywood Hills home of retired detective Harry Bosch to investigate the shooting deaths of Linus Simonson, Jr. and James Oliphant.
