In late 2019 and early 2020 she presided over the trial of [[Mickey Haller]] for the murder of [[Sam Scales]]. In late February 2020 she began to sense that the prosecution case was seriously flawed. At one point she asked Haller whether he wished to ask for a mistrial due to prosecution errors. On February 27 she was asked to participate in a meeting with all of the involved parties. Immediately after the meeting Judge Warfield went into her courtroom, thanked and released the jury, and announced the settlement of the case.
