Larry Bernard is a reporter at the Los Angeles Times.

He began his writing career in 1993 with the Chicago Tribune.

He attended the Medill School of Journalism in Chicago, where he became friends with Jack McEvoy. Later they both moved to Los Angeles and worked for the Times. In the "Scarecrow" serial murder case, Bernard wrote the main articles because Jack had an ethical conflict of interest.
