In March of 2004, he took a half-day deep-sea fishing charter with Terry McCaleb. They cruised down to Cabo San Lucas, BCS, where he there was a woman that he wanted to visit. In April of that year, he was interviewed by private investigator Harry Bosch concerning McCaleb's death, but he had little to contribute. The only incident he mentioned from their trip was when the Mexican Coast Guard boarded the boat. They left after Terry paid them a $50 mordida, and the incident turned out to be irrelevant to Terry's death.
