Rojas was Mickey Haller's driver and interpreter in 2010 and 2011. Haller defended Rojas when he was charged with possession of stolen property. Despite the fact that Rojas had a prior arrest, Haller got him one year probabtion instead of jail time. As with several of Haller's other drivers, Rojas couldn't pay Haller for his services and so worked for him for a period of time. Haller had many Spanish-speaking clients in this time frame because he was advertising on Spanish radio. Rojas did translations between Haller and these clients.
Rojas almost got fired when he allowed Herbert Dahl to get into the files in the trunk of Haller's Lincoln Towncar. However, Haller gave him another chance.
