Sylvester "Sly" Fulgoni, Jr. is the son of Sylvester Fulgoni, and a lawyer working in Los Angeles. In 2012 he subpoened Gloria Dayton to testify in the Habeas Corpus petition of Hector Arrande Moya. In 2013, after Dayton was killed, he subpoened Mickey Haller and Kendall Roberts to give a depositions in the same case. At this time he was a very inexperienced attorney and was being coached by his father who was in federal prison. The Moya case was referred to Sly by his father, but he was probably incapable of handling the case on his own. Sly was told by his father to cooperate with Haller, which he did reluctantly.
In the trial of Andre La Cosse for the murder of Gloria Dayton, Sly was called as a defense witness by Haller. He testified to the fact that Moya had been arrested by James Marco and that Dayton was a prostitute who had visited Moya immediately prior to his arrest. He indicated that he had subpoened Dayton to testify as to her role in planting the gun in Moya's room.
