The Poe Building is a prewar brick walkup located Third Avenue in Los Angeles.
The Building was condemned by the Community Redevelopment Agency in 1988 because it had never been earthquake-proofed and the cost to retrofit it exceeded the value of the building, but the Office of Preservation had stalled the demolition by seeking to have the building granted landmark status.
The first floor of the building is taken up by Poe's drinking club.
